Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear

The hare's ear nymphs use the hare's ear (hare's mask) for tail, body dubbing, and thorax. Only the wing case uses another material--in our case, mottled turkey feather. 

Dad Says

I just can't help it. This is an awfully ugly bug. Tied properly (as shown in the photo), it uses extremely buggy hare's ear dubbing. We mix our own dubbing for this nymph from a hare's mask, and include the guard hairs. It produces that buggy, hairy look. I hate it; fish love it. The fish win!
