The photos you see are of the neck you receive. This dyed ginger neck is more of a medium dark ginger color, with warm and evenly dispersed color. Feathers are in good shape. As with other Ewing necks, feathers in the mid-top of the neck measure size 16 and 18, and were long enough for hackling hook sizes with 5 to 8 or more turns of hackle. Feather density on the Ewing capes is moderate, and these will easily tie 500 or more flies. Most feathers will fall in the 12 to 16 range, with a few larger and a few smaller. Size 22 and smaller feathers at the top of the neck are short, and might be difficult for many tiers to work with, but they are usable.
