This is a rich brown-red fur with mottled brown and gray guard feathers. It can be used for dubbing. Dick Talleur uses Woodchuck for Wulff-style wings on his Up-Chuck fly, discussed in Talleur's book Inside Fly Tying: 100 Tips for Solving the Trickiest Fly-Tying Problems.
If you decide to tie the Up-Chuck, here's the recipe:

| Wings and tail | Woodchuck guard hairs |
| Body | Rusty Tan dubbing |
| Hackle | Cree, or other variant barred hackle |
This is a great fly to fish as an indicator. Treat it with your favorite floatant and it rides high and visible.
