Mega Quail Skin

Mega Quail Skin pelts are great for tying a variety of flies. The breast feathers are small, mottled, and excellent for upright wings on classic dry flies. Other quail feathers are excellent for soft hackle patterns. The simple Quail and Green, and Quail and Orange flies are excellent searching flies that can be tied with feathers from this pelt. Other feathers serve well as wing cases and legs on patterns such as the Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear (wing case) or Barr's Copper John (legs).

As you might guess from the name, Hareline has selected larger quail skins; most that we've seen are roughly the size of a partridge skin, and some are as large as a ringneck pheasant skin.
